No comments :

I don't want to tell the details about what is CentOS and why you should use it? For this Google is enough. But if you want to install CentOS in VMWare Workstation 12.x.x then follow this tutorial.

First of all make sure that your VMWare Workstation version is 12.x.x. Though in all version installation is same but in this tutorial I have used 12.x.x. If you don't have then you can download it with this link : VMWare Workstation 12.5.5 ( Latest ) . Now download the CentOS iso image. In this tutorial I have used CentOS 7 ( Latest ). So I recommend to use this version. Download from this link: CentOS 7 ( Latest ) .

Linux installation is very easy. But you may have to be careful in the partition part ( In DUAL boot installation crashing chance of your hard disk is 99% ). But don’t worry. Without consider, you can’t achieve 😛 . VMWare has no risk to crash HDD.

Step-01:
Open your virtual machine first. Click on File on the left edge corner. From the dropdown menu click on New Virtual Machine. You can do it by using keyboard shortcut command Ctrl+N. You may follow the picture below.
Step-02:
Now in the New Virtual Machine Wizard panel you should see two options. 1. Typical 2. Advance. ( If you are noob then go forward using Typical Installation or if you are experienced in virtual workstation you can go further using Advance ). In this tutorial I will go through with Typical option. And it is recommended for the absolute beginners. As shown in the picture below.

Step-03:
Now select I will install os later. Here you can also directly select your iso image of your os. As you are noob so it is recommended to go through the third option.
 Step-03:
Select Linux and CentOS from version menu. If your system architecture support x64 bit then select CentOS 64-bit else select CentOS only.
